Living Soil explores the idea of living ground as a place where matter, memory, traces, and histories continuously accumulate and transform.
Taking place at at CMC Studio, a temporary exhibition space and cultural project located in the former Electro Motor Factory in Berlin, the exhibition brings together more than 30 artistic practices shaped by different personal, social, and material conditions that is constantly through the exhibition.
Across its duration, the space takes different forms through works, sound, music, performance, readings, and spontaneous interventions, creating a space that is constantly shifting and open to different forms of emergence.

Between Myth and Reality: Jeanne d’Arc
3rd – 6th September 2026
France, 1429: a seventeen-year-old peasant girl leaves her village, demands an army, and changes the course of history. Joan of Arc liberates Orléans, enables the coronation of the French king, and is burned at the stake as a heretic shortly thereafter. To this day, she remains one of Europe’s most controversial historical figures.
Drawing on texts by Schiller, Marguerite Duras, Louis-Ferdinand Céline, and others, RISE UP, JOANNA! approaches this iconic figure from multiple perspectives. The production explores questions of war, power, violence, gender roles, and political appropriation.
An intense examination of a woman who continues to resist any clear-cut interpretation.

THE POWER OF WORDS: poetry slam

On 30 August 2026, a former production hall at Neues Ufer 19 becomes a stage for word art, stories and powerful voices: Kiezpoeten are bringing their poetry slam to Moaville, transforming a historic industrial building into an extraordinary cultural venue.
As one of Germany’s best-known poetry slam collectives, Kiezpoeten have stood for high-calibre stage literature for many years, bringing together established artists as well as new voices from the German-language spoken-word scene.

fashion for all
1st August 2026
FASHION FOR ALL is an inclusive fashion project from Berlin that brings together emerging designers, queer and BIPoC creatives, and local communities.
On 1 August 2026, young designers will present the final looks from a design contest and offer insights into their creative processes. Visitors will have the opportunity to talk to the talents, discover their work and gain new perspectives on inclusive fashion.

CREATIVE WORKSPACE BEHIND THE SCENES
10th July – 5th August 2026
Ahead of the FASHION FOR ALL event on 1 August 2026, a temporary sewing workshop is being created at Moaville.
Here, the participating designers prepare their collections and final looks: materials are sorted, patterns adapted, prototypes produced and final alterations made. The workshop forms the creative heart of the project and lays the foundation for the public presentation of the works at the event.
The area serves exclusively as a working and back-office space for the team and is not open to the public.

THE FUTURE OF FASHION: NEO.FASHION. ARRIVES
2nd – 4th July 2026
From 2 to 4 July 2026, Moaville becomes a meeting place for the next generation of fashion. Neo.Fashion. is Germany’s largest platform for emerging talent, a festival for young fashion, new perspectives and creative encounters as part of Berlin Fashion Week.
Be inspired by the latest trends and fresh ideas across numerous shows.
The location, a commercial building at Neues Ufer 13, is being made available by BAUWERT. The company is opening the site of the future Moaville quarter to the public until construction begins. It is an opportunity for people from the neighbourhood and across the city to experience the former industrial and commercial spaces through a diverse programme of events, markets and initiatives in the fields of art, culture and fashion.

ART IN URBAN SPACE: MOWE ART FESTIVAL
8 – 10th May 2026
The cultural interim activation of Moaville began with exhibitions and performances as part of the MoWe Festival for Art and Urban Culture from 8 to 10 May 2026.
The decentralised festival transformed Moabit and Wedding into a stage for contemporary art and urban culture, creating spaces for encounter, exchange and artistic intervention.

Urban Development Funding Day: Neighbourhood Walk
9th May 2026
On 9 May 2026, the site became part of a guided neighbourhood walk through the Huttenkiez as part of Germany’s nationwide Urban Development Funding Day. Starting at Heinrich-von-Stephan School, the tour led participants past landmark industrial and commercial sites, offering insights into the district’s history and its ongoing urban transformation.
Former industrial grounds such as the Ludwig Loewe site, historic warehouses and today’s cultural and production venues illustrated the area’s remarkable evolution, from a centre of industry to a vibrant urban district with a forward-looking future.
As part of the walk, BAUWERT Projektentwicklung presented the vision for Moaville: a new city quarter that continues the transformation of the site and creates long-term opportunities for living, working and culture along the waterfront.
The neighbourhood walk formed part of a citywide programme of tours, exhibitions and participatory events, showcasing how urban development funding helps strengthen communities and brings the future of the city to life.
